Welcome to the English language homepage for the Nurani Dunia Foundation, which is managed in the United States by People to People Aid in Support of Nurani Dunia. For information in Indonesian, please visit http://www.nuranidunia.or.id. Nurani Dunia means "Compassion of the World" in the Indonesian language. The Nurani Dunia Foundation was founded by a group of concerned scholars and journalists in 1999 when there was a need for non-governmental humanitarian assistance to victims of social conflict in Indonesia. Since its founding, Nurani Dunia has grown to become an internationally respected Indonesian NGO, dedicated to aiding victims of natural disaster and social conflict in Indonesia, and improving the welfare of disadvantaged communities through participatory development. Nurani Dunia is a diverse, non-partisan organization with members and volunteers of many different ethnicities and religious backgrounds. The Nurani Dunia Foundation works with a wide network of local, national, and international partners including some of Indonesia's most prominent corporations, such as Garuda International. International donors and partners include General Electric and Nestle corporations, AusAid, the US Embassy and the US Agency for International Development.
